Institutional residential operations carry a complex energy profile: constant baseload from kitchens, laundry, hot water, and lighting, layered with predictable daytime peaks during workshop and activity sessions. A 150kW hybrid solar-plus-battery system was deployed at the centre to cover this load. Soluno’s role is to extract maximum value from it, exploiting the price gap between peak and off-peak tariffs through AI-driven load control and selective battery exports.
Soluno’s AI continuously orchestrates the system: dispatching the battery into export during the highest-tariff windows, throttling deferrable loads when peak prices are at their highest, and tuning the strategy as tariffs and consumption patterns evolve. In most months, export credits offset the variable usage portion of the monthly bill almost entirely. The part of the bill that scales with consumption is reduced close to zero while the centre continues to operate as normal.
Battery health is the linchpin of this strategy: a degraded battery means less peak-window export capability and lower credits. Soluno continuously tracks battery capacity, cycle counts, and cell balance, flagging degradation trends early so the strategy can be tuned or interventions scheduled before financial performance starts to slip.
